The word "liturgy" means "work of the people." Instead of providing a product for you to passively consume, we are inviting you to participate in a weekly experience. By praying and singing and reading out loud, through sitting and standing and listening, we hope to engage you in the active act of worship. We may be physically separated during this time, but by participating in the same acts of worship each week, we are connected to one another through a common experience.

Welcoming Prayer

God – we gather in your presence.

Father – we long for more of you.

Jesus – we place you at the center.

Holy Spirit – come and fill our time together.

Help us to be fully present here,

to your word, to one another,

and to the world you love.

Amen.

Lyrics

To Our God

Up from the ashes Your love has brought us
Out of the darkness into the light
Lifting our sorrows
Bearing our burdens healing our hearts
To our God we lift up one voice
To our God we lift up one song
To our God we lift up one voice
Singing Hallelujah
Chains have been broken eyes have been opened
An army of dry bones is starting to rise
Death is defeated
We are victorious for You are alive
Hallelujah Hallelujah (repeat)
We’ll make His praise glorious glorious, glorious
For His name is glorious, glorious, glorious
Make His praise glorious, glorious, glorious
Shout His name Glorious, Glorious, Glorious

You’re Welcome in This Place

You’re the King
This is Your Kingdom
Jesus come
You’re the Father
This is Your home
Father come

If home is where the heart is
Come and dwell
Come and dwell
I will open up to You

You’re welcome in this place
You’re welcome in this place
Come and have Your way in us
You’re welcome

You’re the Spirit
We’re flesh and bone
Breathe on us
Without Your presence
We are nothing
Fill us up

If home is where the heart is
Come and dwell
Come and dwell
I will open up to You

We respond
Please respond to our invitation
Please accept our invitation

Now that You’re here

Scripture Reading

The text of lectionary passage for you to read aloud as you remain standing.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Romans 12:1-8 (NIV)

Sermon

Silence and Prayer

Take some time to listen to the Spirit and respond in prayer, however you feel led.

Offering

Benediction

Loving God, in you we are transformed

And transformed still again.

When the discouraged cry for hope, make us hope.

When the hungry cry for bread, make us bread.

When the thirsty cry for water, make us water.

When the suffering cry for help, make us help.

When the sick cry for healing, make us healing.

When the oppressed cry for freedom, make us freedom.

When the outcasts cry for love, make us love.

God, who is hope,

who is bread and water,

who is help and healing,

who is freedom,

and who is love,

transform us anew.

keep us close to you as

you transform the world.

Let us leave here asking all this

in the name of God, the Creator,

Jesus, the Redeemer,

and the Holy Spirit, our Breath of Life.

Amen.
